zorro
ZORRO
Male - Mastin type cross breed
Date of Birth 01.10.2018 - Weight 32 kilos
Castrated

Passport, chip, double rabies, and all other vacs. 6 part lab blood tested.
Zorro was found on the streets, disorientated after obviously being hit by a car. He suffered serious facial injuries to the one side of his eye area and mouth.
2 operations later of reconstructive surgery, we think it is as far as we can go to improve his looks, which has still left some visible trauma and sacring to his eye area, but his sight is unaffected, it is all superficial skin damage now. Zorro will require cream and eye drops regular to prevent dry eye occuring. Zorro is a sweet loving faithful dog, who has not let his trauma affect his nature in any way. He just adores everything and everybody. He is extremely energetic and a bit boisterous, but we also feel this is down to him wanting a home of his own where he can be doted on more than we can give him in the shelter. He is a bit special to us, and we think you will find he is a very special dog for a family if adopted. Due to his boisterous nature we would not advise small children in the home. He walks well on the lead, travels well in the car.
Currently in our Pizarra shelter

maurice

Very low level Leishmaniosis, on allopurinol tablets with a retest due November as vet thinks it will be a negative score.
Maurice can to us with his "brothers" from a terrible place, where all 3 were living in a chicken pen, no room and an extremely sad state of affairs, to see them now having the freedom to run and play is an absolute delight.
He shares his pen with his 2 mates, he is a gentle giant of a dog, very respectful, adores human company, walks well on the lead, travels well in the car. He just wants to be loved and have his own home.

robin

ROBIN
Male - Cross Mastin Español
Date of Birth 24.04.2019 - Weight 33 kilos
Castrated

Passport, chip, double rabies, all other vacs and 6 part lab blood tested.
Shares his pen with his 2 Bee Gee friends at the shelter, as from the same rescue place, being kept in a chicken pen. Robin can be very shy of new people at first, does not have the confidence of his brothers, but is not aggressive, After a short time he comes around and then just loves to be friends with you. He loves to play but is also a very relaxed dog. His only trait is we have to feed him separate as he is greedy and will polish off everyones food if he can get to it. Due to his shyness we would not advise a hectic home or one with small children as it would be too much for him. Walks well on the lead and travels well in the car. Currently in our Pizarra shelter.

harry

HARRY - MALE
Harry is over 9 years old and by the looks of it, spent most of them 9 years chained up. He has his scars! He was dumped outside our gates, covered in ticks, nothing to him but skin and bones.
Now he knows what love feels like and is desperate for more. With a new lease of life, he is loving every minute of it. Harry treasures his cushioned bed and Teddy bear.
Already, he's started lead training and learning the basics. Who says you can't teach an old dog new tricks?!
If we could just find a home for him to see out his remaining years, he will be the happiest, most grateful dog there is.

snoopy & molly

Handed into our Pizarra shelter, the owner returning to UK.
Molly is a 5 year old cross breed
Snoopy is a 10 year old cross breed.
Part of 3 dogs. These two really deserve better than this... but we agreed to take all 3 to keep them together as losing their home and their owner all in one day was too much we thought.. at least they have each other for stability for this time in their lives.
We are doing our very very best to keep them happy and will do everything we can to find them loving stable homes ASAP.
IF YOU HAVE A FARM/FINCA AND COULD LET THESE DARLINGS BECOME A PART OF YOUR COUNTRY LIFE THEY WOULD BE SO GRATEFUL.
We are trying to keep them in Spain if possible so that we can easily monitor their progress.
Currently in Pizarra, Malaga, Spain.

RESCUE EXPLAINED: Author unknown:
The neglect changes you.
The abuse hardens you.
The suffering breaks you.
The ignorance angers you.
The indifference disturbs you.
The injustice destroys you.
On a daily basis…your faith will be tested.
Your heart will be wounded....
Your soul will be altered.
On a weekly basis…you’ll question yourself.
You’ll question your strength.
You’ll question the world.
On a monthly basis…you’ll fall down.
You’ll get up.
You’ll go on…
On a yearly basis…you’ll look back…
You’ll see faces…
You couldn’t save them.
You’ll learn to mourn.
To grieve.
To sob.
You’ll learn to trust a little less.
To do a little more.
To fight a little harder.
You’ll learn to try.
To hope.
To pray.
You’ll learn to fail.
To succeed.
To accept.
You’ll learn when to hold on.
When to give up.
When to let go.
You’ll learn who you are.
What you stand for.
Why that matters.
Then… at times… you’ll forget why you matter.
You’ll question what you’re doing.
You’ll wonder if it’s worth it.
But…here’s the good news…
When you forget…
When you question…
When you wonder…
All you have to do…
Is take a look around…
And you’ll see them.
You’ll see their faces.
You’ll see their smiles.
You’ll feel their love.
In their eyes, you’ll see their journeys…
You’ll remember their beginnings…You’ll know how far they’ve come…
You’ll remember when they didn’t know you…
When they didn’t trust you…When they’d given up.
You’ll remember how you healed them…
How you loved them…How they loved you, too.
And as you look back…
You’ll want to move forward…
For them… and because of them.
In your darkest hours, you’ll look around…To find the differences made…the hope given…and the lives saved…
Because you existed.
In those moments, when you look into their eyes…every doubt will be erased.
Every question will be answered.
Every worry will subside.
Because in that instant…in each of your hearts…
You both share the very same thought:
“Every bit of pain was worth it…for this moment here with you.”
And honestly…no matter what else happens…
Those moments hold all the strength you need…
To keep going.
Rescue is pain.
Rescue is joy.
Rescue is worth it…because they are worth it.
And that’s the honest truth.

Ahí va mi casa!

Abandonado por el río
¡Otro perro triste y solo!
No se sabe donde han ido sus dueños.
No le importaba mucho.
Es que la novedad se disipó.
Demasiados problemas, demasiada molestia

Esperaba tres largas semanas
Antes de ser encontrado muerto en un agujero.
Aprende la lección, no hagas suposiciones.
¡Piénsatelo bien! ¡Piénsatelo bien!

Una poema por Natalie Galea

There goes my home!

Abandoned by the river
Another sad and lonely dog!
No telling where its owners gone
He didn't care for long.
The novelty wore off you see
Too much trouble, too much bother
But what he doesn't know is
His problem's onto another.

Three weeks now this dog's been at the river
No food, warmth, shelter or care
It's too easy though to throw him from the car
And leave him there.

Every step for this dog is agony
As his leg is fractured and twisted
But does his master agonise
With how he's acted?
No he's resisted!

Hopefully someone kind you may say
Will pick this poor dog up
And take it to the rescue place
Where they'll fix him up!
Think twice, do think twice
As they are busy as can be
And cannot save every soul
Abandoned out there you see!

Think twice before getting any dog!
It’s rewarding but a lifelong job.
Though, he would not dump you off and sneer
Or leave you out there in fear
He'd be your faithful friend,
For life until his end!

Conscience is the key you see
Everyone’s conscience these days is numbed.
Well there's no excuse for this act
It should be prison, that’s a fact!

Out there in the cold and darkness
He's alone, in pain and lost!
Who will help him, who will save him
Now he's just a number
Dead in the frost!

Think twice and recall
That poor abandoned soul.
A long three weeks he waited
Before being found dead in a hole.
Learn a lesson, don't reckon.
Think twice!  Think Twice!

A poem by Natalie Galea. Bor

DON’T FORGET THE OLD DOGS!!!
One by one they pass my cage,
Too old, too worn, too broken, no way.
Way past his prime he can't run and play,
Then they shake their heads slowly and go on their way.

A little old man, arthritic and sore,
It seems I am not wanted anymore.
I once had a home, I once had a bed,
A place that was warm, and where I was fed.

Now my muzzle is grey, and my eyes slowly fail,
Who wants a dog so old and so frail?
My family decided I didn't belong,
I got in their way, my attitude was wrong.

Whatever excuse they made in their head
Can't justify how they left me for dead.
Now I sit in this cage, where day after day,
The younger dogs get adopted away.

When I had almost come to the end of my rope,
You saw my face and I finally had hope.
You saw through the grey, and the legs bent with age,
And felt I still had life beyond the cage.

You took me home, gave me food and a bed,
And shared your own pillow with my poor tired head.
We snuggle and play, and you talk to me low,
You love me so dearly and want me to know.

I may have lived most of my life with another,
But you outshine them with a love so much stronger.
I promise to return all the love I can give,
To You, my dear person, as long as I live.

I may be with you for a week or for years,
We will share many smiles, you will no doubt shed tears.
And when the time comes that God deems I must leave,
I know you will cry and your heart will grieve.

And when I arrive at the Bridge, all brand new,
My thoughts and my heart will still be with you.
And I will brag to all who will hear,
Of the person who made my last days so dear.
